Every 7 seconds, someone buys a copy of Adele's '21' - One year and one day after she "Set Fire to the Rain," Adele is still torching the charts. Her trophy-collecting "21," released in the U.S. on Feb. 22 last year, rode a massive post-Grammy sales boost to become the first album to sell more than 2 million copies on iTunes, earning double-platinum status.
With worldwide sales of more than 18 million copies, that means someone buys "21" every seven seconds, according to Digital Spy. The soulstress also set a record for the most weeks at No. 1 by a female artist; her 21 weeks in the top spot bested the previous mark, set by Whitney Houston's soundtrack to "The Bodyguard."
