Get Sucked Into the Swedish Underworld with Trailers for 'Snabba Cash' and 'Snabba Cash 2'
Get ready to hear the name "Joel Kinnaman" quite a bit more. The Swedish actor is now rumored to be taking the titular lead in the "Robocop" remake, and he's been building up a nice resume of Stateside work in films like "Safe House" and "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and the television series "The Killing." But while many Americans might not know Kinnaman quite yet, he's a hit in his native Sweden, and that's thanks to his other collaborations with "Safe House" director Daniel Espinosa.
In 2010, Epsinosa directed Kinnaman as the lead in "Snabba Cash," which became a smash hit in Sweden. The film is a layered story that chronicles drug running, organized crime, and the people that come to blows within those systems. Of three primary leads, Kinnaman is the youngest and flashiest. Based on a novel by Jens Lapidus, the strength of that film is what led to Espinosa jumping to big American blockbusters. The second "Snabba Cash" film will be released this year, this one directed by Babak Najafi, with Kinnaman reprising his role and Espinosa serving as executive producer.
With both Espinosa and Kinnaman on the fast track to superstardom, it's high time we get to know their work, so let's take a peek at trailers for both of their "Snabba Cash" films, productions that have attitude and style to spare. "Snabba Cash" aka "Easy Money" will (finally) arrive in the United States on July 27. "Snabba Cash 2" will debut in Europe later this year. After the break, check out trailers for both films, thanks to
