tim tebow dancing with the stars Tim Tebow to join 'DWTS'?, A "Dancing With the Stars" champ  claims he chatted with Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow about joining the reality TV competition  Tebow apparently told him he wasn't opposed to the idea, but won't be able to do it for at least another year

"Dancing With the Stars" champion J.R. Martinez is having a great few months. First he takes the trophy on the dancing competition show, then he and his girlfriend announce that they're expecting a baby, which he promises he won't name Apple Cider or Salami. Now he's revealing a possible new contestant on the reality show that will get football fans pretty excited.

In an interview with Celebuzz, J.R. revealed, "I actually did come across Tim Tebow, and we chatted about ["Dancing With the Stars"] for a second. I thought he'd do pretty well on the show!" So, will the football star be on the upcoming season? Doesn't look like it. "He said, 'Maybe in a year' ... That's pretty much what he said," revealed Martinez.

Tebow isn't the only celebrity Martinez suggested for the show. "I think Sherri Shepherd from 'The View' would be good," he said. "We talked about it a couple times when I was still in Ne
Every year, the producers of Dancing with the Stars announce that this season there will be "big" stars. Sometimes this happens. Sometimes... not so much. But, if a DWTS pro gets her birthday wish, Dancing with the Stars season 14 could have at least one prominent contestant. Could Tim Tebow head to Dancing with the Stars this spring?
Don't get too excited yet, Tebow fans. The Denver Broncos quarterback has neither committed to nor indicated an interest in the show. So why are we even bothering to talk about this (other than the obvious desire to get both DWTS and football fans to read an article)?

The answer is Karina Smirnoff. On Saturday, January 14, the DWTS pro dancer told NYDailyNews.com that Tim Tebow is her dream celebrity for the next season. The now-34-year-old dancer was celebrating her birthday in Las Vegas when she explained, "All I want for my birthday is for Tim Tebow to dance on Dancing with the Stars. Tim is a very talented athlete. That was clear when we saw his performance this past season with Denver."

Will Karina Smirnoff's Tim Tebow wish come true?

While Tebow certainly doesn't need Dancing with the Stars, he might want to consider it. After all, DWTS season 14, which begins on March 19, will not conflict in any meaningful way with Tim Tebow's football commitments. Tebow might also consider the need to capitalize on his current prominence -- a stint on Dancing with the Stars has been a positive for such NFL stars as Emmitt Smith and Hines Ward.

Would the inclusion of Tim Tebow be a good thing for Dancing with the Stars? Definitely. The show always includes an athlete or two, and football players have traditionally been popular and successful dancers. Plus, the originator of an Internet meme -- "tebowing" -- would bring in plenty of viewers.

And just think of the Tebow-inspired dances!

We still have a few weeks before we get the official contestants for Dancing with the Stars season 14. But we can now start the speculation with Tim Tebow!

Footballers have long appeared on "Dancing With the Stars" - and if season 13 winner J.R. Martinez is to be believed - Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow might take a stab at the pasadoble one of these days.

Martinez told Celebuzz he had a brief convo with the QB about doing the show: "He said, 'Maybe in a year' ... That's pretty much what he said."
